• New challenges in information, social media and 3D imaging[27/02/2014]

    Barcelona Media is working on three projects with a European scope to go deeper into multimedia and multilingual data flows, handling the exchange of information over the social media in order to take on the main social challenges and the simplification of the image conversion process from 2D to 3D.
  • ARTIC presents state-of-the-art mobile solutions at MWC[21/02/2014]

    ARTIC will be taking part as a member of the Stand Catalonia (App Planet), in the Mobile World Congress, which will take place in Barcelona from 24 to 27 February 2014. The association, together with 7 other companies, plans to present its technological capacity applicable to the mobile sector’s needs, including applications for the tourism sector, innovative proposals to recover valuable materials and contributions to advance in studies on the analysis of feelings.
  • TECNIOSPRING: Second call for proposals[08/01/2014]

    The second call for proposals under the TECNIOSPRING fellowship programme will open soon in February. TECNIOSPRING is a new fellowship programme that provides financial support to individual mobility proposals presented by experienced researchers in liaison with a TECNIO centre.

    This year, the rector of Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), Jaume Casals, took over the presidency of Barcelona Media. In this interview, he talks of the Barcelona Media project as “exemplifying” the commitment to research and wishes there were “many more organisations of this stature”, within the context of a model with optimum links to the world of teaching and academic science.

  • Award ceremony of the Barcelona City Challenge [11/12/2013]

  • Neurospaces by Timothy Schmele [10/09/2013]

    The next September 16th Timothy Schmele will present his work Neurospaces in the framework of the Campus Gutenbergevent organized by the Observatori de la Comunicació Científica (Universitat Pompeu Fabra). Neurospaces is a musical work based on medical brain data from functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), using a hemispherical 3D audio system to create an audible image of the brain activity in its exact spatial correspondence.
